As the residents in the southern city of Odesa, Ukraine brace for possible Russian strikes for the fourth night in a row CNN's Wolf Blitzer was joined by an expert panel and the Ukrainian ambassador to the US Oksana Markarova with CNN's Alex Marquardt reporting from the region.
Main takeaways from the Ambassador Oksana Markarova interview on CNN:
- the only reason why russia attacks Ukrainian cities is a criminal intent and the criminal war that russia started in 2014 and restarted in 2022 this is not retaliated for something else;
- with this current attacks on Odesa, they are not only brutaly destroying the infrastructure, killing people, but also attacking 200 million people globally who rely upon Ukrainian supply of food;
- we need all the supplies that we can get, all the air defense that we can get, but we also need all the artillery in order to advance so that we can get russians out from Ukraine as soon as possible;
- I want to praise the state department and the treasury for announcing a comprehensive package of additional sanctions, against additional banks, additional companies that are involved in manufacturing the missile, drones, and everything else. We need to do more of that, denying them opportunity to make money to conduct this war.
