Ambassador Oksana Markarova and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba (via video message) proudly opened the screening of "Glory to the Heroes," a poignant documentary directed by French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy at the U.S. Congress. This event, organized by the Embassy in collaboration with the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, brought together distinguished guests, including Congress members Joe Wilson, Marcy
Kaptur, Jim Costa, John Garamendi, and the Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives, Margaret Kibben.
"Glory to the Heroes" is the third in Levy’s trilogy. After producing “Why Ukraine?” and “Slava Ukraini”, in June 2023, immediately after russia exploded the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine, Bernard-Henri returned to Ukraine to bear witness to this devastation and support the Ukrainian forces all along the frontline. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bernard-Henri and film producer Emily Hamilton for their unwavering commitment and solidarity.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmyro Kuleba in his video address said: "The United States of America is the country that is helping Ukraine the most in its struggle. And I think there are good reasons to do so, because in Ukraine, putin attacked not only our nation, but also the world that you have built, the world that the United States
of America has invested in so much.
We will always be grateful to everyone who will stand by us realizing that what we are fighting for is not just us. It’s the world that we and you want to live in."
Following successful screenings in New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles in December 2023, four charity screenings are scheduled today in Flix Brewhouse locations in Round Rock, San Antonio, Frisco (DFW metro), and Oklahoma City, thanks to the support of the Texas non-profit organization
Liberty Ukraine Foundation.
