Ukrainian Embassy was one of the forty four diplomatic missions in Washington DC that opened their doors to the residents and guests of the metropolitan area to showcase their authentic culture, art, music and cuisine. As the general public walked through the Embassy every visitor was able to enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of Ukraine, experience the diversity and richness of its cultural heritage and modern times.

The event featured the exhibitions of Ukrainian traditional hand crafts presented by Myroslava Semerey, photo exhibition by Ukrainian-American photographer Andriy Portyanko and painting exhibition by Ukrainian-American artist Andriy Kushnir, exhibition of Ukrainian children’s fairytales installations by Luba Chornodolsky. Also, the guests of the diplomatic mission had an opportunity to watch the movie about Ukraine.

The event also featured master class of Ukrainian pysanka (Easter egg) by Halyna Mudra, and traditional Ukrainian cuisine and drinks. The exhibition of children’s paintings “Happy Birthday, Ukraine!” made a nice addition to the event.

The guests of the event also had an opportunity to talk to Embassy staff and learn many interesting facts about Ukrainian culture and traditions.
