On July 25, 2013, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk participated in the Ukrainian Holodomor memorial presentation held at the office of Rep. Sander Levin, co-chair of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus.
Rep. Sander Levin is a main congressional sponsor of the U.S. Law, 2006, that authorized the Government of Ukraine to establish a memorial on the Federal land of the District of Columbia to honor the victims of the Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
In the briefing also took part Michael Sawkiw, Chairman of U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor-Genocide Awareness 1932-1933, Mary Kay Lanzilotta, the partner of Hartman-Cox Architects, and Larysa Kurylas, the design architect.
Sander Levin was informed of the last developments on the project and approximate time frame of its completion.
Ambassador of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to the congressman for his assistance in the implementation of this important project.
