On November 25, 2013, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S. Olexander Motsyk met with Vice President & General Manager of Chevron for Government Affairs and Head of the Washington office Maria Pica Karp.
At the meeting M.Karp informed of the pace of the agreement implementation on sharing hydrocarbons produced within Oleska field signed by Ukraine, “Chevron Ukraine B.V.” and LLC “Nadra Oleska” on November 5, 2013 in Kyiv.
Also, M.Karp expressed her confidence in successful implementation of the agreement between Ukraine and “Chevron” and informed on the prospects of the upcoming testing drilling and exploration activities. She outlined out the perspectives of creating new jobs in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions during the implementation of this project, socially responsible business conduct and ecologically safe technologies of shale gas production.
For his part, Ambassador O.Motsyk elaborated on the measures by the Government of Ukraine aimed at the strengthening of the state’s energy security and creating attractive conditions for foreign investors to carry out projects on oil and gas extraction in Ukraine.
The sides also discussed an issue of conducting of a number of information campaign events by “Chevron” on oil and gas extraction technologies in Ukraine, a possibility to organize study trips for the Ukrainian officials to the shale gas production sites in the U.S. as well as use of the Ukrainian goods and services in the framework of project implementation in our country.
