In the framework of the National Prayer Breakfast of the United States of America annual Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast was held on February 4th, 2011 in Washington D.C. with the participation of members of Parliament of Ukraine from different political factions, other officials, civil society and business leaders from Ukraine, the United States, and other foreign countries.
Ukrainian Ambassador Mr. Olexander Motsyk addressed the audience having emphasized that this long-term tradition to gather for Prayer Breakfasts in Washington D.C. is extremely important in terms of encouraging friendly dialogue among different countries, including Ukraine and the U.S.
Describing the ongoing efforts by the President and the Government of Ukraine in further development of the Ukrainian state, Ambassador Motsyk had pointed out the need for more unity and solidarity of the Ukrainian nation over the common values in order to successfully implement systemic reforms and European integration course of Ukraine.
This was the fifth Ukrainian Breakfast organized by a group of Ukrainian politicians and businessmen, as well as representatives of the U.S. Senate and Congress. The idea of Prayer Breakfasts is to make Christian values more commonly used in the domestic politics and international relations.
