January 27, 2011, the Ukrainian diplomatic mission hosted the Ukrainian cultural event «Christmas Carol» organized by the Embassy of Ukraine Cultural and Information Center together with the Arlington Sister City Association (Virginia).

At the outset, the guests of the event were addressed by Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Olexander Motsyk, who stressed on the importance of the interregional cooperation and further enhancement of interpersonal contacts for the strengthening of the Ukrainian-American cooperation in general. The Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the Arlington Sister City Association for their efforts to popularize Ukrainian culture in the USA.

During the «Christmas Carol» evening the audience was able to experience the traditions of Christmas celebration in Ukraine, enjoy Ukrainian folk songs performed by American middle school students and also by the American Ukrainian community choir. Following the age-old Ukrainian custom, the Embassy chef treated the guests to the twelve Lenten dishes.
