May 22, 2010. The activities in the framework of the 37th Convention of one of the oldest and most numerous Ukrainian non-governmental organizations on the territory of North America - Ukrainian National Association (UNA) took place in the «Soyuzivka» resort (NY). Consul General of Ukraine in New York S.Pohoreltsev and numerous representatives of Ukrainian diaspora organizations of the United States took part in the event.

The official part of the event was opened by the UNA President S.Kacharay, who read a congratulatory letter from the President of Ukraine V.Yanukovych.

Addressing the participants of the event, Consul General of Ukraine in New York congratulated S.Kacharay of his reelection as the UNA President and wished the members of the UNA Executive Committee the fruitful and constructive work for the benefit of the Ukrainian people.

S.Pohoreltsev underlined in particular the development of cooperation with the Ukrainian communities abroad as one of the cornerstone-priorities of the Ukrainian authorities and expressed the conviction that activities of the UNA will further contribute to mutually beneficial strategic US-Ukrainian bilateral partnership.
