On October 7, 2015 the Senate voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act For Fiscal Year 2016 ‪NDAA‬ http://1.usa.gov/1WOg6sV. This document stems from legislative drafts, which were passed earlier by both houses of the US Congress. The House of Representatives adopted the Act by voting on October 1, 2015.

Under NDAA, $300 millions can be allocated to Ukraine with a decision of the Defense Secretary in coordination with the State Secretary to provide security assistance and intelligence support, including training, equipment, and logistics, supplies and services to the Ukrainian military and other public security services in a fiscal year of 2016. $50 million from that amount will be available for ‪defense‬ assistance to ‎Ukraine‬.
The NDAA passed in Congress is a joint victory that will enhance the defense capacity of Ukraine.
The NDAA will enter into force upon signature by U.S. President Barack Obama.
