On the eve of the UN Day – observed on October 24 – just one week after Ukraine was elected as the UN Security Council non-permanent member for 2016-2017, the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA participated in the UN 70th Anniversary celebration hosted by the Oneness-Family School (Chevy Chase, Maryland).
The Head of the Cultural and Information Center of the Embassy of Ukraine Olha Ivanova, along with representatives of over 60 other foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C., took part in the National Flag Ceremony of the UN member-states.
At their classes, 2-14 years old students of the Oneness-Family School, who represent close to 50 nations from all over the world, explore the life of different countries, including the UN founding member Ukraine, which some of them dream to visit in future. 7 years old Julian, 2nd grade student is so excited about Ukraine and Ukrainians that he made special presentation about the life in our country and learned to dance Ukrainian folk dance hopak so well that it is hard to believe that he is not a native Ukrainian.
