Valeriy Chaly thanked Matt Dababneh for his initiatives in support of Ukraine, namely for sponsoring a Resolution of the Assembly relative to the California-Ukraine National Guard Partnership. This resolution enabled further cooperation between the National Guards, in particular, delivery of the life-saving equipment from California to Ukraine.

The Ambassador of Ukraine also recognized the highly trained and experienced California’s border patrol security service and suggested that future initiatives would enable transmission of this experience and launch practical cooperation with the State Border Service of Ukraine. Valeriy Chaly emphasized that control over the Ukrainian-Russian border is key to implementation of the Minsk agreements and peaceful resolution of the situation in Donbas.
