December 4, 2015, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly had a meeting with Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services John McCain, who is also a member of the Senate Ukraine Caucus.
Ambassador Chaly thanked Chairman McCain for his constant and comprehensive personal strong support of Ukraine, in the legislative area in particular, having emphasized that, in order to succeed in countering Putin’s Russia, Ukraine has to have not only strong economy and diplomacy, but also a powerful Army.
Chairman McCain assured Ambassador Chaly that he remains one of the biggest friends of Ukraine and that he will spare no further effort to ensure Ukraine receives the U.S. defensive weapons to be able to protect herself against Russian aggression.
John McCain has invited Valeriy Chaly to visit together the U.S. state of Arizona, which he represents in the U.S. Senate.
Ambassador of Ukraine also presented Chairman McCain with a book entitled ‘Euromaidan – History in the Making’, dedicated to Ukraine’s 2013-2014 Revolution of Dignity.
