The Embassy of Ukraine in the US opened its doors for young Americans and Ukrainian children adopted by the US families.
Last weekend before the Orthodox Easter observed in Ukraine this year on May 1, the Embassy held the Easter egg painting workshop for them. Following the introduction on centuries-long history of Ukrainian ethnic ornaments and their symbolic meaning as well as traditions of celebrating Easter in Ukraine, including egg painting and sanctification, children created painted Easter eggs of their own design accordingly to Ukrainian traditional egg painting technique. Ambassador of Ukraine Valeriy Chaly and his wife Lyudmyla Mazuka extended their gratitude to American craftswoman of Ukrainian origin Halyna Mudra who donated her talent to make the Easter egg painting workshop at the Embassy possible.
