In a frank and fruitful conversation Ambassador Chaly underlined that despite recent trends of substantial increase of Ukrainian export to the State of Minnesota current bilateral trade turnover does not reflect potential of economic cooperation. The parties have agreed to pay additional attention to the development of the interregional trade and investment cooperation, in particular in agro sector, IT and Hi-Tech sphere, medical equipment and modern technologies. The Ambassador urged Ms. Gerbaud to become proactive advocate of Ukraine in Minnesota and encourage State’s companies to establish business links with Ukrainian partners. Special attention was paid on the most promising areas of cooperation; Ambassador Chaly presented investment potential of Ukrainian economy and reaffirmed representatives of Minnesota officials in the Embassy’s support of American companies’ initiatives in Ukraine. In return, Minnesota Trade Office Executive Director welcomed more active cooperation of Ukrainian companies with their partners in the State. Additionally, parties have discussed adoption of Minnesota’s sophisticated medical technologies for treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian wounded warriors.
