On November 16, 2011, the Embassy of Ukraine to the United States of America hosted the “Gerdan” quartet concert, organized by the Culture and Information Center at the Embassy of Ukraine in association with the “Embassy Series” company.

In her welcoming remarks, Head of the Culture and Information Center Ms.Vladyslava Bondarenko briefly told the audience about Ukraine, in particular about its history, culture and traditions as well as major achievements over the last 20 years.

Members of the “Gerdan” quartet Solomia Gorokhivska (violin), Andriy Pidkivka (wind instruments), Kalin Kyrylov (accordion) and Branislav Brynarsky (contrabass) brilliantly performed lovely Ukrainian compositions and folklore melodies of the Eastern Europe countries.

Guests of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission visited the permanent exhibitions of Andriy Kushnir paintings, Igor Grechanyk sculptures and “Scythian Gold” holograms, watched the video about Ukraine and enjoyed Ukrainian traditional cuisine.
