Within frameworks of Ukraine-U.S. Commission on Strategic Partnership a session of the Political Dialogue / Rule of Law working Group was held. The meeting was opened by remarks of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State on European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Russell.

Governmental Representative in the European Court of Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska, Counselor of the President – Chief of Directorate of constitutional and legislative modernization (the Presidential Administration) Marina Stavniychuk, observers from Ukrainian and U.S. NGOs participated in the event as well.

The parties underlined Ukraine’s progress in improving Electoral legislation, drafting legislation on NGOs, reforming Criminal legislation, as well as the Judiciary system. The participants also exchanged experience on preventing transnational crime and fighting corruption.
