On November 7, 2011 the Presentation of National Projects and investment opportunities «The best 2011 Investment opportunities in Ukraine», organized by the State Agency for Investments and National projects of Ukraine, the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York and Broad Street Capital Group was held at the PEN Club of the City of New York.
The event, attended by about 100 representatives of an American business circles, in particular, USUBC, HSBC Securities, UPS Capital, FCU, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, LSE Motors Ltd, IBE Trade Corp, New Tours USA, etc., marked start of the second stage of the world road show that the State Agency for Investments and National projects is to conduct in two upcoming months in 16 financial centers around the world. «LNG-terminal», «Energy of Nature», «Olympic Hope 2022», « Clean City», «New Life» and «Open World» National projects were presented in the framework of the event.
During the opening the Head of the State Agency for Investments and National projects Vl.Kaskiv outlined the investment prospects of Ukraine, noting that Ukraine is the largest European market which is really promising in terms of the foreign investments, especially taking into account its agricultural and energy sectors capacities, developed transportation system and advanced tourist infrastructure.
In his speech at the presentation the U.S. Congressman from the State of New York M.Grimm stated in particular that Ukraine is among the top five most promising economies in the world - like China, India and Singapore. He said that this year will be crucial in the context of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States and that the United States believes the development of bilateral cooperation in an energy sphere would be active and profitable. ‘It is expected that the growth of Ukraine's GDP will be 5.1% in 2011. This, and the prospect of signing a free trade zone Agreement between Ukraine and the EU are the key arguments in favor of investment cooperation between Ukraine and the USA’ - he said.
During his speech at the presentation Consul General of Ukraine in New York S.Pohoreltsev stressed that Ukraine is and will remain one of the European countries with a stable and predictable foreign policy, and underlined an importance of the governmental plans for further liberalization of economy and reducing the tax burden on business implementation.
The presentation was followed by a discussion session moderated by the President of the USUBC M.Williams.
