Memorandum of Understanding between The Smithsonian Institution and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was signed at the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA with the participation of Ambassador Oksana Markarova .

The goals of the Memorandum is to support youth in Ukraine utilizing freely accessible Smithsonian Science Education Center instructional materials with the focus on improving STEM and science education in Ukraine and use the most modern approaches in teaching of natural science through professional trainings of the teachers.

Memorandum was signed by Yevhen Kudriavets Deputy Minister for Education and Science and Monique Chism Smithsonian's Under Secretary for Education.

By signing this Memorandum, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine officially starts cooperation with the largest educational and research complex in the world, the Smithsonian Institution.
